Our Educators

Wombat employs qualified and experienced educators to provide high quality, inclusive child care.

Our nominated supervisors and team of educators have appropriate tertiary qualifications, first aid training and working with children checks. We follow the Education and Care Services National Regulations.

We are a close knit, cohesive team who enjoy working together. We are proud that our team of educators have worked at Wombat for many years (up to 15 years) allowing us to create a 'family' type dynamic in the team. Most of us are mothers ourselves and understand the challenges of leaving your little ones.

As educators we have adopted a holistic approach to children’s learning. We plan quality experiences, recognise and extend on moments of spontaneous learning and implement ongoing reflective practice that works effectively in our occasional care, family group setting. We consider unstructured, spontaneous play as powerful and necessary as planned, intentional teaching experiences. When children play they are provided opportunities to discover, create, improvise and imagine (Early Years Learning Framework pg 15).

We view family as children’s first and most influential teachers. We endeavour to work collaboratively with families and develop positive, respectful relationships. We encourage open, friendly communication between educators and caregivers. We recognise the individuality of each family’s structure and cultural background and strive to acknowledge this in our approach to teaching and children’s learning.
